Do your students love science fiction, Star Wars, Star Trek, and super heroes? Get them to also love science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) by connecting them with the exciting SciFi universe! The National Informal STEM Education Network website provides a range of hands-on activities and events for kids that combine STEM with science fiction.
Through the super-human activities listed below, students will use their imaginations to figure out how to make elevators work in space with zero gravity. They will get a chance to be real-life superheroes who figure out how to become invisible, make liquid body armor, build their own super creatures, and explore the microscopic world.
They can engage in activities with literary themes like in the science fiction classic, Frankenstein, for a chance to learn about biology, genetic engineering, and ethics.
