Target Applicant: Pre-University

The School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Pennsylvania invites highly motivated and talented high school students (entering grades 10, 11 or 12 in Fall 2010) to apply to participate in our three-week Summer Academy in Applied Science and Technology (SAAST). Residential Session: July 11 – 31, 2010. Our five rigorous, intensive SAAST courses give high school students an advance look at the learning experience they can expect in college. SAAST gives students the chance to take their interest in science and math to the next level and apply it to cutting-edge technology. Courses are available in: Biotechnology, Computer Graphics, Computer Programming, Nanotechnology, and Robotics. Combining sophisticated theory with hands-on work in our world-class laboratories and culminating in independent projects, SAAST challenges students to work harder, smarter, and more creatively than they ever have before. Every SAAST course carries college credit from Penn, and includes exciting site visits to industry and government, enabling students to see technology at work in the real world.
