Target Applicant: Pre-University

The Summer Engineering Academy consists of two types of programs: Interdisciplinary and Major Focused. The Interdisciplinary programs cut across all majors in the UA College of Engineering to give students a glimpse of the infinite possibilities in engineering and the Major Focused Programs are designed to give students the opportunity to explore a few engineering majors at a deeper level. These programs are great for graduating seniors and returning SEA students. The Programs offered are outlined below and are structured to represent different themes in the engineering world: The Physical World, The Environment and Bioengineering, Engineering New Technology, and Urban Enginering Systems. Students will also participate in hands-on labs and lectures designed to break the stereotypes of engineering and show them how they can impact the world around them. All 13 of our Engineering majors are represented: from aerospace to biomedical to optics. In addition to engineering, students are exposed to the college lifestyle by living in a University of Arizona residence hall for a week and participating in activities meant to get them ready for the College environment. Students regularly take trips to the Sudent Rec Center and the Student Union, as well as participating in community building activities in the residence halls.
