For Gearheads Only- Mechanical Engineering 101 Explore simple machines, wheels, and axels, pulleys, gears and universal joints as we learn the basic principles of mechanical engineering. Design wind cars, working gear trains, and compete to construct the most unique machine. Building the World Around Us- Civil Engineering Basics This unique summer workshop will introduce students to the principles of architecture and urban planning using LEGOs, K’NEX and other materials. Students will be presented with a wide range of modeling, engineering and architectural activities as they map out and build communities. We’ll construct bridges and towers and investigate the impact of earthquakes on structures.
