The 2022 IEEE STEM Summit was a huge success and the replays of the sessions are now available! You can view them on demand on our STEM Summit page.

The IEEE STEM Summit is an international event hosted by IEEE Pre-University Educational Activities virtually and for free, designed to bring together STEM enthusiasts who are interested in strengthening the engineering experiences for pre-university students. The theme of this year’s IEEE STEM Summit was “Building Tomorrow’s Technical Community Today!” More than 600 volunteers, pre-university teachers, university faculty and others from 80 countries were inspired by our keynote speakers including Dr. Ioannis N. Miaoulis, a visionary leader in STEM education, and Dr. Christine Cunningham, who discussed the engineering mindset.   Practicing K-12 teachers, Elizabeth Alves, Josh Burker and Jason Erdreich provided participants with concrete examples of engineering lessons in the classroom, and challenged us to include all kinds of learners in engineering lessons.  IEEE STEM Champions and IEEE Presidents’ Scholarship winners spoke about the impact that IEEE has had on their work. The summit yielded over 1100 registrants with 54% percent turnout, 502 interactive comments, and 410 session replays.

A special thanks goes to Steve Izzo (IEEE Communications Society), Babak Enayati (IEEE Power & Energy Society), Hari Vishnu (IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society), Mark Davis (IEEE Aerospace and Electronics Systems Society) and moderator Lorena Garcia (Pre-University Education Coordinating Committee Chair) for sharing their pre-university education outreach activities and advice through our Technical Societies’ Panel discussion. Also, thank you to the IEEE Pre-University Coordinating Committee and staff members for coordinating this event for the STEM community. And finally, thank you to all of our participants for joining in and making this year’s Summit a success! Be sure to check out the replays of the Summit sessions on demand today!
