Are you an educator in Europe? Do you want to bring science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to your classroom in a way your students will love? The STEM Alliance has a perfect opportunity for students to get creative with STEM while also showing them they can create a better world.

Join the STEM Alliance – Minecraft: Education Edition Competition Today!

European educators and their students are invited to join the “STEM Alliance – Minecraft: Education Edition Competition,” which runs until 30 April 2022 at 23:59 CET. Minecraft is a 3-D sandbox video game in which players get to build their own worlds. Similar to building with blocks in real life, users can create all kinds of virtual things in Minecraft using 3-D virtual blocks.

Under the theme “Active Citizen: Building for Peace,” the competition calls on primary and secondary school educators to integrate Minecraft: Education Edition into their lessons.

Educators will split their classrooms into groups of no more than five students. Each team will be challenged to think about their vision for peace, then create that vision within the Active Citizen world in Minecraft by building a model of a new world that shows how this can happen. Then, they will be tasked with explaining their model in a 90-second video, including how their vision can be accomplished through democracy.

Note: Your school will need a Minecraft: Education Edition license to participate. If it does not have one, it can sign up for a free trial.

What are the prizes?

The first two winners of both categories will include a promotional video, as well as of various Minecraft merchandise. Third-place winners for both categories will receive Minecraft merchandise.

Visit the competition’s webpage to learn more details including submission steps.
