A Royal Ride: Catherine the Great’s Great Invention

Show kids ages 4-8 how roller coasters were invented with this fun story. Catherine the Great was a Russian Empress in the 1750s. Wanting to continue the winter fun of ice slides in the spring, she helped design what is now known as the world’s first roller coaster. Math-loving kids ages 10 and up might enjoy learning about Katherine Johnson. A NASA Mathematician, they can see how her love of math help her overcome hardships throughout her life.
