Announcement: TryEngineering STEM Grant Recipients 2026

The TryEngineering STEM Grant Program is designed to spur STEM outreach and innovation by providing funding to IEEE volunteers to develop new STEM programs and to enhance or maintain existing programs. The programs are engaged with students, teachers, parents, and volunteers all over the world, providing opportunities for STEM exposure, learning, and training. Between 2021 and 2026, the grant program has funded 272 programs, awarded over $329,773 and represented 9 IEEE Regions. 

2026 TryEngineering STEM Grants Awarded

This year, a total of 70 grant programs were selected to receive a combined funding of $82,976. The grants awarded are categorized into the following levels:

  • Inspire Level (Each awarded $1,001 to $2,000) – 28 programs awarded totaling $50,512
  • Share Level (Each awarded $501 to $1,000) – 27 programs awarded totaling $24,954
  • Introductory Level (Each awarded up to $500) – 16 programs awarded totaling $7,510

IEEE Computer Society logo

The IEEE Computer Society provided $10,000 in funding awarded to grant programs with a computer science focus. 9 programs were awarded with this funding.

The IEEE Communications Society provided $10,000 in funding awarded to grant programs with a communications engineering focus. 10 programs were awarded with this funding.

The IEEE Information Theory Society provided $2,500 in funding awarded to grant programs with a communications engineering focus. 4 programs were awarded with this funding.

The IEEE Signal Processing Society provided $3,000 in funding awarded to grant programs with a signal processing engineering focus. 4 programs were awarded with this funding.

IEEE Women in Engineering provided $3,450 in funding awarded to grant programs with a women in engineering focus. 3 programs were awarded with this funding.
