I am OK at math but it’s not my favorite subject, is engineering for me?
Engineering is more than just math! However, almost all engineering degrees require some expertise in mathematics to ensure that graduates understand the fundamentals they will need in their work. The math that you will need though is applied to real world problems and consequently many students find this more interesting. Engineering math is about finding new and better ways to do things; it is about using logic and reasoning to answer and solve problems. In general, you will probably need to take courses that range from simple algebra to calculus. In work most engineers do not do extensive mathematical work themselves; when they need to solve serious mathematical problems they often work together with professional mathematicians and statisticians. This is another important reason for mathematics being in the engineering curriculum as this knowledge will help you to able to speak to professional mathematicians when you need their help.
