You Can Help NASA During the Solar Eclipse This Month!

Wednesday, August 2, 2017

The total solar eclipse is set to take place on August 21 this summer, stretching across the United States from Oregon to South Carolina. Download the free Globe Observer app and help NASA collect scientific data during the eclipse as part of the citizen science program. During an eclipse, animals, plants, and environmental conditions are affected, with changes in temperature and clouds. Following the instructions on the app, NASA wants your help in measuring the air temperature in your area so that they can use this data to learn more about the environmental effects of a total solar eclipse.
