EngineerGirl Essay Contest
Target Applicant: Pre-University
The EngineerGirl website is part of an NAE project to bring national attention to the opportunity that engineering represents to all people at any age, but particularly to women and girls. Every year, the EngineerGirl website sponsors a contest dealing with engineering and its impact on our world.
The contest is open to individual girls and boys in each of three categories:
— 3rd grade to 5th grade (Ages 8-11)
— 6th grade to 8th grade (Ages 12-14)
— 9th grade to 12th grade (Ages 15-18)
Entries must be submitted through the submission form on the EngineerGirl! website and must include all required information. Essays will be judged on the basis of organization, depth of detail, and use of language by the author. All winning entries will be published on the EngineerGirl! website.
In addition, all winners will receive the prizes noted below.
— First-place winners will be awarded $500.
— Second-place entries will be awarded $250.
— Third-place entries will be awarded $100.
